A crash like this would kill most humans instantly, But David Allan Coe has a lot more music to make, and this was not the end for the Long Haired Redneck. The accident happened on March 19, 2013, when he was broadsided by a semi truck. The police report shows that David was neither impaired nor speeding at the time of the accident
Much has changed since March 2013,; The photos below show how happy the world is to have still DAC around, how many people do you know that have lived through the likes of a crash like this? After you look through the photos, leave us a comment below about your first thoughts.

I know only one other SOB that walked out of a car that looked like that without a scratch. Guardian angels do exist glad there was one watching over you DAC as well as my son. Glad to have both of you still around. You still rock saw you at Tubby’s in Pa actually got your play list off the stage at the end of the show. Advantage of being front and center stage.
01-18-2015: Mr.Coe you definitely have a guardian angel or maybe God’s not ready for you or me yet. I guess my son, Aniceto Martinez, 21 yr old had completed his mark on earth,10-01-05, he was in a crash driver was driving 120 mph governor was unsunsuccessful to shut the truck off. Truck lost control, started flipping, my son thrown out first, driver, same age, thrown out the windshield both died instantly in a cow pasture. I found a CD of yours in my son’s belongings. I knew he loved Country music but never would of thought he had one of your CD’s. He was loved and remembered by young, old, black/white and hispanics, poor and not so poor people. There were over 350 who attended his funeral. No Mr. Coe, you still have a mark here to make. I haven’t figured mine out yet, I will be glad when HE says its time so I can see my favorite again.
Looks like the Lord of Heaven’s Armies don’t want him home …just yet! Peace y’all!!!
He had an angel watching over him. I love his music and hope he makes a lot more. Also hoping he will come to Columbia South Carolina and do a concert. I Have been listening to him sing since the 70’s
God wasn’t finished with him yet.
